TYPEFACES FAQ
What font formats are provided?
Every font comes with .otf and .woff2 files included by default. If you need a different file format, feel free to get in touch via email.
Can I modify a typeface I purchased?
Modifying the font files themselves is not permitted. However, you may convert individual glyphs to outlines or vector shapes in software such as Adobe Illustrator or Affinity Designer and edit them freely from there.
Do you offer student discounts?
Yes. Students currently enrolled in a design or art-related program are eligible for a 50% discount code. Full versions of any typeface are also available free of charge for use in non-commercial student projects.
To apply, send an email with your typeface request, a copy of your student ID or equivalent document, and a brief description of your project.
Please note that while you are welcome to showcase your work online and offline — during and after your studies — the license does not extend to other projects. A regular license is required for any use outside the original student project.
Can I get a refund after purchasing a font?
Because fonts are digital products, all sales are final and refunds cannot be issued once a file has been delivered. If you experience a technical issue or received the wrong file, please get in touch via email.
EULA
This End User License Agreement (EULA) between you (the Licensee) and Scifipoetry (the Licensor) governs the use of the Font Software and the fonts. By downloading or using the Font Software, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions of this EULA.
Your access and usage of the fonts is subject to the conditions contained herein, all of which constitute a legal agreement between you (the Licensee) and the Licensor (hereinafter the License). By installing, accessing and/or using the fonts, the Licensee acknowledges to have read, understood and agrees to be bound by this License.
If you do not agree to this License, you are invited to discuss the issue with the Licensor. The Licensor is an independent design studio that thrives by keeping customers satisfied and is open to new ways of providing a better service. The Licensor believes that fonts with unreasonable restrictions do not ultimately contribute to anyone’s satisfaction and tries its best to keep licensing adaptable to as many workflows as possible.
01. Intellectual Property
The Licensee acknowledges that the fonts, trademarks, copyrights, including the copyright of the typeface, and any other intellectual property rights related thereto, are the exclusive property of the Licensor, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The Licensor remains the sole owner of the title, copyright, and other intellectual property rights in the fonts and the Licensee does not acquire any ownership rights in the fonts.
02. Modification
The Licensee is not permitted to modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the fonts without the Licensor’s prior written consent. The Licensee is permitted to convert glyphs into vector shapes and modify these shapes as graphic objects. The Licensee is permitted to subset web fonts in order to reduce file size.
03. License
This License allows the Licensee to install the fonts on an unlimited number of computers belonging to the Licensee. The Licensee may use the fonts to create graphical designs and products, provided that the letterforms themselves are not the primary commercial offering of the Licensee’s product (e.g. house numbers, stamps, craft templates, or punched letters).
The Licensee is also permitted to upload the font(s) to a web server (self-hosted) and embed them into a website using the CSS @font-face method. This License is not limited to a maximum number of page views, traffic, or domains, provided that the Licensee is the owner of the respective domain. Any embedding method other than @font-face is not permitted.
04. Free License / Trial Version
The Licensee may use a font freely for personal use, provided that no monetary gain is derived from such use and the font is not used on a publicly available platform such as a website, application, or social media profile, or in relation to a company logo or any public broadcast. Otherwise, the Licensee must purchase the appropriate commercial license as per the projected use described herein.
05. Third Parties
The Licensee may provide the font(s) to subcontractors or third parties working directly on behalf of the Licensee. Such third parties must agree to use the fonts exclusively for the Licensee’s work, agree to the terms of this License, and retain no copies of the typeface(s) upon completion of the work. The Licensee may not provide the fonts or make them accessible to any other third parties. The Licensee is not permitted to lend, redistribute, sublicense, or resell the font(s), or offer them for free public download.
06. Prohibited Use
The Licensee may not use the fonts in connection with any content that is religious in nature, glorifies or incites violence, or is discriminatory on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other characteristic. The Licensor reserves the right to terminate this License immediately and without notice if the fonts are used in violation of this clause.
07. Promotional Use
The Licensor reserves the right to use images of work created with the fonts for promotional and marketing purposes, including but not limited to the Licensor’s website, portfolio, and social media channels. The Licensee’s identifying information will not be disclosed without prior consent. If you prefer that your work not be featured, please contact the Licensor.
08. Limited Liability
Considerable time and effort has gone into every typeface available from Scifipoetry — both optically and technically. Every effort has been made to produce the fonts to the highest standards. Under no circumstances shall Scifipoetry be liable to the Licensee for any consequential, indirect, incidental, punitive, or special damages, including any lost profits, lost data, or lost savings. All font software is installed at the Licensee’s own risk.
09. Miscellaneous
Scifipoetry reserves the right to modify and update this License at any time without notice. However, the EULA valid at the time of purchase remains in effect for that license.
10. Termination
This End User License Agreement is effective until terminated. This Agreement will terminate automatically if the Licensee fails to comply with any term herein. Upon termination, the Licensee must delete all font files and backups.
11. Jurisdiction
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. This Agreement shall not be subject to the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods, the application of which is expressly excluded. The place of jurisdiction is Halle (Saale), Germany.
